1st cooking day in the new kitchen

I had quite a bit of fun back in October after we moved in and got a little settled into our new house. I spent a day cooking in our new-to-us kitchen and took advantage of increased counter space. I had a good time cooking and baking and getting the freezer stocked with some yummy things. Some of the fun I had that day as pictured below: Eggs muffins, banana bread, homemade applesauce, frozen raspberries, chili, and spaghetti squash chicken Alfredo.  That was quite a fun day of breaking-in the kitchen and making a mess of a ton of dishes. The dishwasher got a workout in.

More cooking to come …

This weekend I did a small bit of this make-ahead cooking again to ward off the MN chill and help warm the house. We started with waffles, lots of waffles, we will be able to eat them all week. I again made freezer chili for my lunches and a whole yummy turkey dinner for a delicious Sunday night meal that left us really full. I am getting excited to give my new kitchen a really fun run for its money with the first ever freezer meals weekend next Saturday with a couple friends. Recipes are picked out, shopping list is started, I have been having a blast getting ready for the fun that is going to happen. I will have to try and remember to take pictures… likely I will be having too much fun to remember to stop and take any though.
