My first song lyrics

One day a long time ago I wrote a song… without any knowledge of how to write music or even the lyrics that would make a good song. I just sat and wrote to a man that changed my life. A copy of a letter I wrote him and the lyrics to this song were buried with him over two decades ago. It is time for me to find the energy and resolve to write more and find the stories that need to be told whether through blogging or writing in a journal, there are stories to be told and I would love to write them down so someday I can look back and read them with a smile on my face because I loved deeply and was able to do one of the things I love to do…

A special man,

That’s what you were,

Always there,

I knew, I could,

Count on you!

Another father,

That’s what you were,

Always there,

I knew I could

Count on you!

Our time together,

was bad and good,

I only remember the good,

I could always

laugh with you, ohh!

I met you when

I was little, you

married my mom.

It was a good ten

years til you had to go!

A special man,
That’s what you were,
Always there,
I knew, I could,
Count on you!

Another father,
That’s what you were,
Always there,
I knew I could
Count on you!

Vacation with you,

was always fun,

swimming, walking,

talking, driving

I always had you, ohh!

When I needed you,

listening was one of

those things you could

do you’d stand

there patiently!

A special man,
That’s what you were,
Always there,
I knew, I could,
Count on you!

Another father,
That’s what you were,
Always there,
I knew I could
Count on you!

Now when I think,

of you all those

times come

flowing back

the memories!

How could I

ever forget the

man I embarassed.

The man I cared for

the man I loved.

A special man,
That’s what you were,
Always there,
I knew, I could,
Count on you!

Another father,
That’s what you were,
Always there,
I knew I could
Count on you!

A special man,
That’s what you were,
Always there,
I knew, I could,
Count on you!

Another father,
That’s what you were,
Always there,
I knew I could
Count on you!
